Donkey Kong is a highly successful side-scrolling game developed by Shigeru Miyamoto which has become popular throughout the world and has become the legend of gaming along with its other counterparts such as Mario, Sonic etc. Donkey Kong was first released in the 1981 and Donkey Kong was the name of a gorilla, This was the first ever appearance of  Donkey Kong and also the first ever appearance of Mario both in the same game. After the initial game of Donkey Kong. A whole new franchise of the Donkey Kong Games were released all of which were side-scrolling games. The most innovative thing about the series was the use of 3D modeled characters in a 2D world. This was the first ever use of 3D modeling in a 2D game. This was state of the art at that time. Donkey Kong story revolved around Donkey Kong and his clan who were to fight the crocodiles and their leader called King K. Rool. After the success of the original game a stand alone game was developed and it was called Donkey Kong Jr. In this game the son of Donkey Kong is rescuing his father Donkey Kong who is trapped by Mario (This is the only game in which Mario is portrayed as a villain).

Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong Jr

Donkey Kong Jr is the sequel to the original Donkey Kong. It features Jump Man (Mario) as the villain and Donkey Kong Jr is the son of the original Donkey Kong. The goal of the game is to free Donkey Kong who is imprisoned by Mario. The way to save Donkey Kong is to reach the top of the screen using Donkey Kong Jr and to touch keys that are place on the map. Whenever a key is acquired a lock on the chain holding Donkey Kong is released. After this the game starts again and the flow of the game is at a faster pace making it more difficult to avoid obstacles such as birds barrels etc.

Donkey Kong 3

Donkey Kong 3 is the 3rd installment of the original Donkey Kong Series. In this part Jump Man(Mario) is replaced with Stanley, who is an exterminator of bugs. The main idea behind the game is to fight Donkey Kong who is throwing bugs at the flower that Stanley is trying to protect. The aim of the game is to stop Donkey Kong from destroying all the flowers. Stanley uses his bug spray to shoot the bugs and kill them while also shooting Donkey Kong with the spray and forcing him to go to the top of the screen. There are different types of bugs that are thrown by Donkey Kong and there are different tactics to defeat the bugs.

Saints Row 4

Saint Row 4 is a 3rd person action adventure open-world game developed by Volition and has been released on multiple gaming platforms such as the Sony PlayStation 3 Xbox 360 and Windows. The game is the 4 installment of the series and has been received widely by the gaming community.

Saint Row series has always been loved by its fan due to the wide variety of options the players have in playing the game. This adds the replay value of the game and thus is very addictive in its game play. Saint Rows 4 has a campaign mode that has missions that are critical for the story to progress and side missions that add vastness to the game play mechanics. Saint Row 4 takes place in the city of Steel Port and the situation of the current game world is that the city has been invaded by aliens from outer space and the leader of the 3rd Street Saints (which is also the main character of the game) has to stop the aliens from invading. He does all of this through being assigned the President and also gains super powers such as the ability to shoot ice shards and flames from his hands and the ability to jump as high as tall buildings with the addition of these powers the player can also move objects using telekinesis and create powerful shock waves that are generated when he lands from his high jumps. The game also has a solid character creation system which the player can use to create a character that is unique and can almost resemble a real human if the effort is put. Games like Saint Row 4 and Grand Theft Auto 5 have a system that uses some force to keep the players action under check like in Grand Theft Auto 5 if the player starts to commit crimes the police will try to stop the player and gets aggressive the more the players wreak havoc.


In Saint Row 4 the same system is applied, instead of police the force in use are Aliens and they send down a force of alien ships and men to stop the player from wreaking destruction. The players abilities are upgraded through picking upgrades in the form of updates that are left by the aliens and each update opens up a new tree that has new abilities and further more upgrades.

Need for speed hot pursuit is an open world racing game developed by Criterion Games and published by EA. The game allows the players to choose between either playing as a cop or to play as a racer, each of these modes have their own perks and story lines. If the player were to play as a cop they would have to choose between a police cruiser first followed by perks that help them in capturing bad guys. The cop mode in the game is meant to be much more tougher and meaner and have tougher cars. The perks that are assigned to each cop car includes Road Blocker.

The racer mode of the game is for player who like to just race around and escape the cops while achieving objectives on the way. The racers have cars that are much more faster than the police cars but they are much more fragile and take a beating easily. The cop chases begin during races and the players have to fight off the cops while staying in first place in the race. The racers also have the ability to call in power-ups like the Radar Jammer which when activated causes the sounds in the game to be muffled like the police radio and boost the sound of the car itself which helps in escaping from the pursuer.

The game is a 3rd person shooter open world game that has received critical acclaim upon its release in May 2010. The game features John Marston, who was a mercenary hired by the government so that he may fulfill their deeds through him. Upon relieving him from his duty. The family of Marston is captured by the government for one last final job.

Marston was a train robber before he was married and he robbed train with posse which included 3 of his partners. This trio has wreaked havoc on the city and has caused distress to everyone. The job given by the government is to take down all the members of the group of his posse.

Red Dead Redemption is set in the 1900's when cowboys were popular in America. The game has multiple features accurate to that era such as riding horses going to bars watching the first ever cinema movie etc. The game is open world so the whole world is riddled with side quests and other challenges.  The game incorporates multiple weapons such as the Henry rifle and the Colt 79. There is also an ability of Marston which is to increase his focus to such level that he can take 100% accurate shots extremely fast, so fast in fact that time for him slows down.

Like any other Rockstar open world game there are always two or three maps. In the case of Red Dead Redemption there are 2 maps each of which can put any other open world game to shame. There is a system of moral value in the game. Which is simply when Marston kills innocent and does other bad deeds he will receive negative honor while doing good deeds will give Marston a positive honor. Low honor will eventually close the doors of a town for him.
