The game is an episodic type which was in mind when the idea was thought about by the development team and there have been 5 episodes that have been released till 2015. Life is Strange game is unique in the sense that the game changes according to the decision of the players and causes a butterfly effect when a certain decision has been made.

The story follows a young photographer named Maxine. Maxine finds out that she has the ability to alter time at will. The story is based when Maxine alters time the butterfly effect takes place and the whole narrative of the game changes. Due to this feature of the game players have praised the game for its unique gameplay and story line and the well developed character.
