Metroid was one of the most successful game of Nintendo along with other games like Super Mario Pokemon etc. Metroid is based upon Samus Aran (The first female protagonist in any game). The plot of the whole series is that Samus Aran must retrieve the parasitic Metroid from the Space Pirates that have vowed to destroy Samus or anyone who oppose them . The core gaming mechanics are that Samus recieves her power from different pickups along the way and this increases her battle capacity thus allowing her to fight tougher enemies.
